1/21/21 Iowa City Community Schools interim superintendent Matt Degner may soon have the “interim” removed from his title. According to the online meeting agenda, the Iowa City Community school board will vote Tuesday on a three-year contract for Degner, who has served as interim superintendent since last July. He would become permanent superintendent as soon as the board approves, and the new contract would pay him an annual salary of $229,000 retroactive to January 1 st. All other terms of the contract remain the same as the interim contract Degner signed last year. Tuesday’s meeting is set for 5pm and can be viewed on the district’s YouTube page. ....
