Electronics Exports From Tamil Nadu: Tamil Nadu posted almost a two-fold increase in electronic exports from $1.86 billion in 2021-22 to $5.37 billion in 2022-23
The export of phones and components increased by less than 1% year-on-year and is forecast to continue to face difficulties this year due to the impact of inflation in many countries around the world.
Yesterday Patently Apple posted a report titled "The Indian Government's Plan to Boost iPhone Exports is working, though very slowly." Today, a new Nikkei report claims that Apple has asked key suppliers, for the very first time, to shift some of their AirPods and Beats headphone production to India.
Apple started making the iPhone 13 in India earlier this year, and the company announced last week its plans to manufacture the latest iPhone 14. The tech giant has been manufacturing iPhones in India from 2017.
