Fugitive and killer William Holly Griffith may have had a book and movie, both titled "Fools Parade" patterned after him, but on May 3, 2024, officials and historians in Gassaway, Braxton County, will remember one of the men he killed, Gassaway Police Chief Ord Thompson, who was fatally shot by Griffith on April 30, 1915.
