CDC updates guidance on social distancing in K-12 schools
The updated CDC guidelines, announced on March 19, signal the agency’s turn away from the 6-foot distancing recommendation.
DENVER - Denver Public Schools is aiming to cook 100% of its school meals from scratch for the more than 90,000 students its serves.
To help meet this goal, the district partnered with Brigaid, a startup that partners with K-12 school districts and other institutional kitchens to support and enhance the quality of their nutrition programs.
Brigaid launched its first pilot program in 2016 in New London, Connecticut, and has since worked with several East Coast schools — including the nation’s largest district in New York City. The company is hiring 12 professional chefs to bring their culinary expertise to Denver Public Schools’ food service operations, according to DPS spokesperson Winna Maclaren.

Rooftop patios with views opening in time for spring in Denver

>
Guests enjoy a warm afternoon on a dog-friendly patio at the Golden Mill on opening day, April 10. The new Golden Mill features five local food concept options, over 50 self-pour local brew taps, wines and house-made cocktails, live events, music, a rooftop patio, dog friendly patio, pop-up markets and more. (Andy Cross, The Denver Post)
When a group of Golden friends saw that a historic building in their town was in danger of redevelopment, they decided to take matters into their own hands.
Three years and more than $6 million later, The Golden Mill has opened to the public. It’s a food hall with five vendors, a beer hall with more than 50 local brews, and a community center with art and music, plus plenty of other events on tap.

Odell Brewing Sloan's Lake Opens in Former St. Anthony's Location

The view from the rooftop bar at Odell Brewing's new Sloan's Lake taphouse says it all: Denver is back.
Under the cheery euphoria of blues skies, warm weather and increasing vaccinations, people are bursting out of their homes and into the city's parks, onto the streets and around the corner to their neighborhood brewery. And in northwest Denver, they have a new one, just a few feet off the walking paths around Sloan's Lake Park.
The new Odell Brewery Sloan's Lake Brewhouse, at 1625 Perry Street, opens to the public today (Monday, April 5) at 11 a.m. This is the second Denver location for the 32-year-old Fort Collins brewery, but it is the first to offer housemade dining options, which include everything from pizzas with seasonal ingredients to a smoked pork belly flight, smoked trout dip, salads and soft pretzel bites.
