Hour winds and then either brush the coast of florida, move inland or stay out to sea. you see where this cone is of uncertainty. all of these different scenarios will mean huge differences in the impacts that are felt. hurricane-force winds extend 45 miles from the center. this storm jogs a little more west. it could mean much more far-reaching impacts for the state of florida. if it jogs to the east that would be the best-case scenario. it looks like it will loop back to the north and east by the time we get in to the weekend and then a lot of uncertainty from there. some models are showing this bending back around and impacting florida for a second time as we get to the middle of next week. a lot of uncertainty there. one thing we are certain of this will have huge impacts for florida and the southeast coast in the coming days. we will watch it closely. our second hour of 360, how ....

What you did not see in this radar is beneath the pink, where it s affecting areas of virginia and washington. martha: schools out in that area today. bill: a lot of schools, more delays. so it s facing millions and millions of americans. this is one to keep an eye on. martha: this is the way i remember winter being when i was a kid. it snowed all the time. it snowed all the time. and now it is snowing all through the winter, which should not be not be a huge shock to any of us. the scary part is when it warms up and gets icy. the snow is one thing but when it warms up and gets icy, you ve got a problem on your hands. bill: you see that track by the ocean. if it jogs to the left, it could be a monster. martha: absolutely. bill: if it stays to the right, it then pushes farther right, further out over the ocean, we could perhaps maybe not get the worst of t but that s what you re looking at, want to make sure you re aware as the storm system moves in. in a moment here, we re going to ....

Don t know if clad mentioned this, but the hurricane-force winds extend out to the center, and most of the storms are on the right-hand side of the storm, but nonetheless, if you get the storm 40 or 50 miles from the coastline which is what we think will happen, you will get hurricane-force winds here. if it jogs to the west, you will have major strength, and category 3 or 4 force winds here. that is the issue with the pounting seas and surf and beach erosion here, and the winds are the damage as well. and you may remember, wolf, in isabel, there were portions of the roadway here that were completely cut because of the storm surge on the sound and off of the ocean. so i think that the folks here are not quite as prepared either mentally or physically for this storm as i d like for them to be. hopefully, that is going to make a turn, but as chad pointed out, it is very, very stubborn at this point, and we will all have to wait to see what happens. but looking off camera here, and ....

And the east coast of the united states beyond new england bracing for the impact and it could bring flooding and nasty rip currents for the second half of the week but the damage depends on the path it takes. the chief meteorologist is in the weather center. we watched this cone of uncertainty and i hoped maybe they will, it will be more defined and we will know more today. it is spread. but the big problem on this, it jogged 30 miles one way or the other make as big difference. if it jogs to the right sunday and monday are not back on the beaches on the east seaboard but cooler. and here is the storm at 135 miles an hour, and it will likely strengthen in a bit and all of the models curve this storm toward the north and toward the northeast. but with that kind of a spread they are so close to the seaboard we will talk about ....
