the university instated these requirements amid surging omicron cases, some are reasonable but some are cause for confusion. the university wanted to phase out winter break. instead of spacing out movement they condensed it, to rebook expensive flights and change itineraries and is a broader trend here which is a lot of inconsistency and policies, just to give you one example the university has a new 20 person capacity restriction where we have events of 20 people and no food allowed and so forth and the university is perfectly fine allowing hundreds of students to gather unmasked in large dining halls or travel restrictions, students aren t able to leave for personal reasons but if the basketball team wants to travel to indianapolis or anywhere else, they are perfectly fine so covid only spreads on ships that are not university sponsored. it is confusing and inconsistent ....

Number of cases. cruise ship freedom was one of the ships impacted over the past week with what carnival calls a small number of passengers testing positive for covid. that ship docked as planned in miami on sunday, and the passengers getting off the ship after their voyage had different experiences. listen to what they said. we heard 5, 12, 25. they quarantined them. we had a good time. we ll do it again. we didn t catch one port on that ship, because everybody is in there all over each other. nobody is wearing masks. it was disgusting. nobody cared. reporter: although there is an uptick in the number of cruises that had to alter their itineraries, the impacted cruises only represent a small fraction of the dozens of cruise ships that are throughout that have sailed throughout the ....

Pushing the day out. this would not be the heaviest ruse season anyway. mostly what we re seeing are people waiting and seeing. waiting for that busy season, which is after the holidays. so right now around 50% of cruises are still off line as the industry really recovers from covid-19. at this point, none of these itineraries have been impacted from the announcement of cases. the hope is that 2022 will be a strong year for the industry, maybe outpacing 2019, which was one of the strongest years for cruises. neil, as i m sure you remember, this industry was one of the latest to get the green light from the federal government. so the cruise industry is really holding on to their current customers hoping that they can keep moving forward and omicron and other restrictions won t take them a step back. neil? neil: got it. ....
