Hundreds of people in Greater Sudbury who have volunteered to open their homes to Ukrainian refugees. Many of them have connections to the region, or are part of churches and community groups that are raising funds to bring people over.

A telecommunications company, a recruiting agency and an engineering firm are the three finalists for this year’s Cambrian College employer award of distinction.
The award is given out every year during Cambrian’s career fair in recognition of an employer that has demonstrated exemplary support for students and graduates.

“We rely on and are so very grateful for the strong corporate partnerships we’ve developed,” Renee Scott, Cambrian’s director of student success, said in a release. “Part of our commitment to our students is that when they enrol at Cambrian, we’ll set them up on a path toward a great career. We can do this thanks to the amazing support we get from our strong industry partners, and this award is one way of saying thank you.”
