The new Leonardo AW101 helicopters of the Polish Navy will replace the Mi-14PŁ (ASW) and Mi-14PŁ/R (SAR) assets in the Polish Naval Aviation.
The Polish Ministry of Defence (MoD) has awarded a contract to PZL-Świdnik, Leonardo’s fully owned Polish company, to supply 32 AW149 multirole helicopters.
An agreement is going to be signed soon, covering the delivery of multi-role AW149 support helicopters, as announced by the head of the Polish Ministry of Defence, Mariusz Błaszczak, during an Armed Forces and MoD leadership briefing, also involving President Andrzej Duda. The Leonardo Helicopters AW149s would be manufactured at the PZL Świdnik facility.
