Festival celebrates William Sturgis, son of Judge John Sturgis, who left this area and settled Cedar Falls, Iowa, in 1845.
The community gathered Friday evening to view “The Giving Town” Mike Mort’s latest Sturigs documentary held at the Sturges-Young Center for the Arts.
“The Giving Town: 150 Years of Generosity in Sturgis, Michigan" premiers 7 p.m. Aug. 5 at the Sturges-Young Center for the Arts. Tickets are $10/$12.
On behalf of Villa residents, Mary Lou Falkenstein petitioned the Sturgis Historical Society for copies of Mike Mort’s "Windows to Our Past" movies.
