World cultures come to Jacksonville this weekend


Here s what you need to know about this weekend s World of Nations festival

It s a festival put on by the city of Jacksonville s Office of Special Events to celebrate cultural diversity. Food, arts, dance, music and other customs from cultures around the world are featured and festival-goers can get a passport stamped as they visit different displays. It runs from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $5 and are available at specialevents.coj.net.
Where is it?
This year s festival will be held Friday through Sunday at Tailgaters Parking at 225 Talleyrand Ave., near TIAA Bank Field. The festival was traditionally held at Metropolitan Park. Last year, it was in a field off Bay Street.  ....

Jacksonville Beach's Springing the Blues returns with COVID rules


Springing the Blues, the music festival held every spring in Jacksonville Beach, will model its COVID-19 restrictions on those in place for Jacksonville s World of Nations festival.
Fans will be required to wear face coverings unless actively eating or drinking in a stationary position while maintaining physical distance from others. Festival staff will give two warnings to those not wearing face coverings or wearing them improperly. Anyone receiving a third warning will be asked to leave. 
A barrier will be set up in front of the stage to keep fans separated from performers and festival organizers are looking to create family groupings for those who are coming together as a group with socially distanced circles placed on the ground that will allow groups to pod or bubble together. ....
