Ohio St beats James Madison 80-66 in March Madness 1st round
Cotie McMahon scored 18 points to help No. 3 seed Ohio State pull away for an 80-66 win over No. 14 seed James Madison in the first round of the women's NCAA Tournament on Saturday. McMahon made her team's first 3-pointer with 5:18 left in the third quarter to give Ohio State a 44-43 lead, and the Buckeyes didn't give up the advantage from there on out. They trailed by as many as 16 in the first half before going on a 12-0 run. James Madison led 26-14 and was making 50% of its shots at the end of the first quarter. The Dukes shot 37.9% in the second half and turned it over 21 times.

Ansley Almonor scored a game-high 23 points and Fairleigh Dickinson beat Texas Southern 84-61 to earn its first NCAA Tournament win in four seasons. The Knights held a 14-2 lead after a 12-0 run in the opening 3:29 and never gave up the lead. Grant Singleton scored seven points during a 19-6 run that saw the Knights lead by as many as 18 points at the end of the first half. No. 3 Ohio State races past New Hampshire 92-36
Cotie McMahon tied a career high with 20 points and No. 3 Ohio State allowed only seven points in the second half as the Buckeyes beat New Hampshire 92-36 on Thursday afternoon. Ahead 39-29 at intermission, the Buckeyes (9-0) outscored the Wildcats 53-7 in the second half and 30-4 in the third quarter. They shot 51% from the field and 40% from the 3-point arc. McMahon scored 12 points in the second half and tied her career best with five steals. Taylor Mikesell added 19 points and made 4 of 6 3-pointers. Brooke Kane led New Hampshire (4-7) with 13 points.
