Joseph James Bucher died December 16, 2023, from an accident that occurred near his home in Eugene, OR. Joseph, better known as Joe, was born in Rochester on August 24, 1960, and was the youngest son of John Bucher and Jane Bucher-Finbraaten. He graduated from Mayo H.S. in 1978, and resided in Rochester until moving to Boise, ID, to complete his college studies. He received his degree in Computer Design Technology and, as a cartographer for several local and federal agencies, assisted in the digital mapping of a large portion of the northwestern United States. Joe was proud of this work, and his exposure to this area of the country instilled a deep appreciation for the environment and its resources.
