Chandler family remembers loved one with roadside sit-in
By Jaedda Armstrong NORFOLK Alice Patrick and a few family members sat in lawn chairs under a huge tree at the intersection of Monticello Avenue and Virginia Beach Boulevard on Tuesday. Passing cars honked and mini-American flags fluttered in the wind. It wasn't a post-Independence-Day celebration. The family was remembering a man who died near that intersection eight years ago.
