James Carthon Funeral service was held for former Savannah State football player James Carthon on December 3 at St. Luke Baptist Church. Carthon, 82, died on November 22. A native of Thomaston, Georgia, Carthon came to Savannah to attend Savannah State where he was a member of the Tigers football team as a offensive lineman
