Reaction as Workington Hall Park BMX track is to be removed

A MAKESHIFT BMX track is being torn down by the council, amid fears over safety. Youths are believed to have built the structures in Workington’s Hall Park themselves – creating trails, ramps, jumps and even water-filled excavations for use as an unofficial bike or BMX track. Allerdale Borough Council has now confirmed it will be dismantling and removing the obstacles, which were build in the grounds of the Grade I-listed building. Cumbria police have also been informed.
