Tributes left to former SAS soldier Thomas (Tommy) Turtle
The SAS base at Credenhill TRIBUTES have been paid to a former SAS soldier who has been described as a 'star' and a fantastic mentor. Major Rtd. Thomas (Tommy) James Turtle died with his family by his side on December 29, aged 70. Major Tommy Turtle had received the British Empire Medal for his service in the SAS and R Irish Rangers. The medal is awarded for meritorious civil or military service worthy of recognition by the crown.
