A second set of arrests have been made in connection to a theft ring in southwestern Greene County last week. The Greene Prairie Press reports that part-time Carrollton Police Officer Jesse Faul was patrolling near the Carrollton Pool on Friday, January 22nd at approximately 2:30AM when he saw suspicious activity from two vehicles around the park by the pool. Two subjects abandoned an alleged stolen jeep in the middle of the road and fled in a nearby parked white sedan.
According to police reports, Faul pursued the vehicle into Jersey County. Faul had radioed ahead to Jersey County Sheriff’s Deputies about the pursuit. Jersey County Sheriff’s Deputies had placed stop sticks near the north end of Jerseyville to help conclude the pursuit. • Jennifer E. Barnett, 40, of 852 N. Main St. was arrested at 6:35 p.m. Monday on a domestic battery charge after being accused of punching someone in the face and breaking a television set.
ACCIDENTS
• Harold D. Winters, 80, of White Hall was cited on a charge of improper lane use after the car he was driving and one being driven by Ashley M. Whitaker, 34, of White Hall collided at 2:02 p.m. Monday in the 500 block of East Morton Avenue.
VANDALISM
• A brick was thrown through the windshield of a car between 6 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday while it was parked in the 800 block of South Church Street.

Three men linked to a series of auto thefts in Mexico were arrested by police in Carrollton, Ill., on Friday.
Corvis D. Johnson, 35, of Belridge, Quindarion L. Wright, 20, of St. Louis and Jamie M. Dwyer, 22, of St. Charles were nabbed by officers in the early morning as they allegedly were in the act of stealing a car in Carrollton.
A fourth suspect reportedly eluded police.
Investigators believe the three as well as the person who got away are part of an apparent auto theft operation that swept through Mexico twice in a three-month span, stealing six vehicles in all.

• Jamie M. Dwyer, 22, homeless, was booked into the Greene County Jail at 3:16 p.m. Friday on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, aggravated fleeing or eluding an officer and two counts of burglary.
Greenfield Police
• Samuel J. Higgins, 30, of Alton was booked into the Greene County Jail at 10:55 p.m. Jan. 21 on a charge of driving while license is revoked or suspended.
Roodhouse Police
• Thomas C. Edwards, 36, of Roodhouse was booked into the Greene County Jail at 5:45 p.m. Monday on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of a narcotic instrument.
