History comes alive at Bolton Castle this summer
Mary, Queen, of Scots LOWER the drawbridge and raise the portcullis! Bolton Castle is throwing open its doors to welcome back visitors to this historic venue, and offers a summer of exciting events. The castle, which has been standing since 1399, is a popular visitor destination nestled within the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. It has always been owned by the same family, and, at one time, served as a prison for Mary, Queen of Scots.
