AN infill development in Winchester has been approved, despite dismay that there will be no affordable housing. Developer Chris Rees and Alfred Homes applied to knock down four detached houses on 1-4 Woodpeckers Drive, Weeke, and build 19 new upmarket homes, a mix of flats and houses. THE FIRST major visible extension on a street of suburban houses in Winchester has been approved. Phil and Claire Szakowski applied for the extension over the garage of a house at 13 Harestock Close, Harestock. Barchester Healthcare applied to alter permission for a 62-bedroom facility and nurses accommodation on the site of the demolished Captain Barnard public house on Otterbourne Road.
