Suburban Asphalt was founded on June 1, 1965 by brothers Terry Buss Sr. and Roger Buss. Jane “Spence” Buss, Terry’s wife, paid the bills and answered the phone for the company while raising their children. The company began by purchasing two used Chevy dump trucks for $500 each, a used tractor for grading, drag paver, and a roller.
