Town tours to resume in Bishop's Castle
Tours around Bishop’s Castle restart next weekend for the first time this year. From Saturday, May 1, tours will take place twice a week at 6.30pm on Tuesdays and Saturdays throughout the summer. Janny Phillips, tour organiser, said: "The small market town of Bishop’s Castle punches above its weight in terms of revealing its origins. Like many towns such as Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth and Newton it was founded to help ‘civilise’ the Marches after the conquest of 1066.
