Sometimes Finally Friday features up-and-comers, local artists on the make, etc., but sometimes - times like this week - our alliterative end-of-week lunchtime showcase hits you with certified star power. Our guests this week are seasoned travelers, bona fide masters and songwriters with rare gifts for setting their words to powerful music, Seth Walker and B.J. Barham, founder and leader of North Carolina country rock stalwarts American Aquarium.

He’s lived in most of WNCW’s favorite music cities: New Orleans, New York, Austin, Nashville, and now Asheville! This 11th album of his (out May 20th) touches on the deep personal reflection time that these past couple years have forced upon us, and was produced by Jano Rix of the Wood Brothers. Speaking of them, Oliver co-wrote three tunes with Seth, and there are some choice covers from Bobby Charles, Van Morrison and Bob Dylan, too. Seth will join us in Studio B for a live session on the 31st.

From Old Crow Medicine Show to Allison Russell, here are the 10 best performances we saw at MerleFest 2022.

Oliver Wood of the Grammy-nominated Americana band The Wood Brothers returns to Musician's Spotlight to talk with host John Floridis about his first solo recording "Always Smilin'," as well as the most recent band recording "Kingdom In My Mind."

Known for the myriad of styles heard in his music, a mesh of Americana, blues, and rock, Seth Walker’s forthcoming album, I Hope I Know ( out May 20 via Royal Potato Family), scratches a particular nostalgic itch. Check out the exclusive premiere of his new single, "Remember Me," only on WMOT.
