Procedure in january to find out the hard way they re not insured at all? yes, that is definitely a concern, prior to the fixes that cms issued over the weekend to fix the platform. there was a lot of concern about missing enrollment files that had errors. and to your point, come january 1st of 2014, there could be consumers that go to the doctor or the hospital thinking they re covered and they re not. i mean, have you ever seen anything like this, dan? this is not most of us don t live our lives mired in insurance. no, true, this is a very, very complex technological problem. this is one of the most complex i.t. problems ever initiated by the federal government. and there are complex problems that they have to initiatie wit the federal government, with the carrier, with the states. ....
And an uptick in enrollment. however, they are stillwell below projections that were originally set. this latest move to extend the deadline to enroll by a week, if you want to get coverage january 1st of 2014 shows you just how flawed this entire rollout has been. they need extra time. they say it is endemic of systematic failure of not only the website but the law. as you saw there in the spot, the a lot of experts are skeptical of that. but they are chugging along and trying to make that date. we ll see. many, many eyes and the country watching this closely, alex. they are. they re hoping for 50,000 people to go on at one time and successfully maneuver. tall order. we re going to hope. 50 years ago today, this nation mourned in the early ....
June, actually telling us that our policies were going to be cancelled effective january 1st of 2014. and, you know, really i found it fairly interesting. in the same letter they said they were going to refer us to another insurance company. they had worked out, quote, an arrangement to deal with it unfortunately, because we have some fairly minor preexisting conditions, you know, we applied for individual coverage outside the exchange and have been denied coverage. so now, you know, we are basically stuck and we are at the mercy of the exchange. and i could go on and on about the experience trying to get through that. i actually went i mean, have you been trying to get on the exchange for a long time. did you find something satisfactory on the exchange? well, i never could get on the exchange to get a true price. they give some sample pricing but the information that i was able to get to did not give any actual quotes, deductibles, ....
