A sonic boom rattled US's Washington and Virginia on Monday after two F-16 fighter jets chased an "unresponsive aircraft" through the sky. As people took to social media to inquire about the strange noise, many residents also shared CCTV videos.
The Federal Aviation Authority revealed that the aircraft had already reached the New York area but made a 180-degree turn.
Authorities are trying to determine what caused the Cessna pilot to become unresponsive and overfly the nation's capital Sunday.
