AMANDA - One man is dead following a house fire at 7985 Lancaster-Circleville Road around 1 a.m. Thursday, Fairfield County Sheriff Alex Lape said. "He got his family out and somehow became a victim of the fire," he said. "I don't know if he was inside trying to retrieve pets or something along those lines. I don't know that." Lape did not release the victim's name yet or the cause of the fire. But he said the victim's next of kin had been notified. Lape also said he believes the deceased man was the homeowner.
