Edu dept to defer JAC exam dates | Ranchi News

RANCHI: The state education department on Tuesday said it would reconsider the examination dates announced by the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) for the Class X and intermediate classes, which are scheduled to be held from March 9 to 26.
Senior officials of the department said various factors were being taken into account for the decision and would soon give a direction to JAC in this regard.
They department would consider whether the period of around two months given to the students is sufficient to cover the syllabus prescribed for the academic year. It may be stated that the syllabus of Class X and intermediate courses have already been reduced by 40%. ....

Ranchi: With Class X and XII board examinations approaching, attendance of students who will be appearing for the examinations has improved in private and government schools across the state. The state government had last month allowed resumption of offline classes for these students to help them prepare for their exams.
Director (secondary education) Jata Shankar Choudhary said attendance in government school has picked up with each passing day. He stated, “Overall attendance in schools rose from 20% in the third week of December to between 40% and 50% now. Parents’ confidence about sending children is also gradually increasing.”
Ashutosh Singh, principal of Amar Sahid Thakur Vishwanath Sahdeo Zila School, said around 150 of 350 students in Class X and Class XII were present at school on Monday, much better than the 25% in the initial days. He said as per the instructions of the education department, strict adherence of Covid protocol is being ensured and parents ....

RANCHI: The state government on Tuesday cancelled the winter vacation at schools to give more time to Class X and XII students to attend offline classes and prepare for the board examinations.
