Elaine Ballard, 90, passed away Friday, October 22, 2021, with her family by her side, at her home in McLeansboro, Illinois. Elaine was born September 16, 1931 in McLeansboro, IL to Elmo and Sarah (Taylor) Weaver. She married Edgar L. Ballard on December 27, 1947 and he preceded her in death. Elaine had many jobs during her lifetime. She was a home maker and helped her father with farming. She also worked as a clerk for the Hamilton County Treasurer's office for over ten years, and she later was employed at Addus Home Health In-Home Health Care in Mt. Carmel. Elaine also volunteered as a Senior Reader at East Side Grade School. She was a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Springerton and was a member of the Pleasant Union Congregational Church in Blairsville. Elaine was a avid reader who enjoyed puzzles, quilting, needle work, traveling, spending time with her family and babysitting her grandkids. We are devastated to announce our precious Wheeler Lee Humphrey was taken to her eternal home as she was surrounded by her loving earthly family. The 5 year old daughter of Travis Humphrey and Savannah Creighton, Wheeler, passed away on Friday October 8th, 2021 at St. Louis Children's Hospital. Wheeler was without a doubt a spunky, blue-eyed beauty put on this earth to touch lives. In her 5 years, 4 months, and 21 days, Wheeler touched countless lives and brought smiles to the faces of many. If you ever were privileged enough to experience Wheeler singing, see her carrying her "piggy", or hear one of the many stories of her and her sisters' shenanigans, we are certain you will smile with the memories she left us. Wheeler was the best little sister to Rendley and Joplin. Those three girls, along with their dogs Cody and Snow, especially loved visiting their neighbors and special friends, Tom & Sue Crouch.
