Following a year of planning and preparations, Harbor Oaks is finally resurrected.

Budget adjustments for Parks and Recreation in the amount of $67,133 got the Pine Bluff City Council meeting off to a rocky start Monday as several minutes were spent discussing that department.

The Regional Park softball complex is finally starting to see improvements after almost 6 feet of floodwaters severely damaged the park in 2019. The flood along the Arkansas River that occurred that spring set a record high-water mark and became one of the costliest natural disasters in the state’s history.

The Public Works Committee, chaired by council member Ivan Whitfield, met Wednesday morning with commission and department heads.

A second Pine Bluff Parks and Recreation listening forum was held last week at the Pine Bluff Convention Center with a crowd of citizens eager to collaborate and help the city move forward.
