Spence & the Jazz Cats will pull into Offbeat Roadhouse Friday night, March 29, for a concert which will also be broadcast on WTJU. Made up of UVA faculty and current undergrad and grad students in the Music department, the group will be playing mostly originals, largely inspired by the Post-Bop and Avant-Garde jazz movements of the late 50’s and early 60’s (Mingus, Art Blakey, Ornette Coleman, etc.).
