Family of Andrew Brown Jr. to See More Footage of North Carolina Deputy Shooting – NBC Los Angeles

“We did not see any actions on Mr. Brown’s part where he made contact with them or tried to go in their direction," Lynch told reporters. "In fact, he did just the opposite. While there was a group of law enforcement that were in front of him, he went the opposite direction.”
Lynch, who described the shooting as “unconstitutional” and “unjustified,” said body camera footage of the shooting's aftermath shows that deputies found no weapons on Brown.
“My father did not deserve to die at all," his son Jha'rod Ferebee told reporters after watching the footage. "He did not deserve to get killed in any way, shape or form. He did not pose any threat at all.”

Andrew Brown's family will see more bodycam footage of the N.C. man's fatal shooting by police

Andrew Brown’s family will see more bodycam footage of the N.C. man’s fatal shooting by police

The family of Andrew Brown Jr. will be granted access to additional bodycam footage from officers at the scene of the North Carolina man’s April 21 shooting, where police in Elizabeth City were serving a warrant. However, Brown’s family will view the footage later than expected and there won’t be a lot of it.
Judge Jeffery Foster ruled on April 27 that footage of Brown’s shooting should be released to his family within 10 days. But since the written order wasn’t given until Thursday, the clock started at that time and the viewing is expected to take place Tuesday. Pasquotank County Sheriff Tommy Wooten II said he and Brown’s family agreed on the timing.

Andrew Brown Jr. shooting: Judge limits body camera footage that family can see

Griff Jenkins reports from the scene in Elizabeth City, N.C.
The family of Andrew Brown Jr., a North Carolina man who was fatally shot in his car by sheriff’s deputies executing a search warrant last month, will only be provided a portion of the body camera footage recorded at the scene -- and could have to wait days longer to view it, a judge has ruled.
Attorneys for Brown’s family had expected to see the video as soon as this week after Judge Jeffery Foster ruled from the bench on April 27 that the family would be shown the videos "within 10 days." The judge also said he would specify in a written order which portions they could view.

Judge rules Andrew Brown Jr.'s family can only view part of body camera footage of his shooting

A North Carolina judge has ruled that the family of Andrew Brown Jr., who was fatally shot by police in Elizabeth City, can only view part of the body camera footage of his shooting.
Judge Jeffery Foster issued a ruling on Thursday, which was published to the Pasquotank County website.
The family is only allowed to view a fraction of the nearly 2-hour video before and after his death.

The footage that is being withheld did not contain images of the deceased, Foster wrote, and thus is not appropriate for disclosure.
Foster wrote that the Pasquotank County Sheriff’s Department had to disclose the video to the family within 10 days of his order.
