NEWPORT NEWS Adam Isaac Deyong was born on Aug. 10, 1974, and passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021, in Newport News after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born and raised in Newport News, graduating from Ferguson High School in 1992 and Florida State University in 1997.
After college, he briefly worked for Gateway Computers before joining his parents in the family business, Deyong’s Western Wear. When his parents decided to retire, Adam purchased it from them and decided to rebrand it as Deyong’s Boots. Realizing a growing need for safety boots and apparel in Hampton Roads, Adam steered the business in that direction. ....
