Man Arrested For Menacing With Improvised Spear
Bend Police arrested a 35-year-old Bend man for allegedly threatening an out of town insurance adjuster with an improvised spear. Police say the incident happened Wednesday outside of Fitness 1440 at 569 NE 2nd Street. About 11:10 am., a witness saw a man approach another person with a spear and what appeared to be a sharp tip or knife attached to the end of it. The suspect, later identified as Jeffrey Simms, verbally threatened to hurt the victim with the improvised spear.
