U.S. Attorney Becky Lutzko announced that Garrick “Gary” Johnson, a former Toledo City Council member, was sentenced recently by U.S. District Judge Jeffrey J. Helmick to four months in prison. A jury previously found Johnson guilty of Hobbs Act Extortion Under Color of Official Right.
Kyle Brackman, 29, of Delta, Ohio was sentenced to 168 months (14 years) imprisonment by U.S. District Judge Jeffrey J. Helmick after earlier pleading guilty to receipt of child pornography. Judge Helmick also ordered Brackman to serve a 15-year term of supervised release upon release from imprisonment.

John Everson, of Liberty Center, was sentenced Friday to 30 months in prison for evading taxes by using a sham trust to conceal income he earned from his electrical engineering business. A federal jury convicted Everson in October 2022 of three counts of tax evasion.
