An Indigenous-led group's proposal to build a mixed-use development on the Jericho Lands in Vancouver's West Point Grey neighbourhood passed its latest hurdle after a policy statement was approved by city council Wednesday.

Vancouver's city council has approved a high-density development concept for a 36-hectare site on the city's west side, involving13,000 new homes.
In an emailed statement, the City of Vancouver said it's working closely with the landowners to ensure a detailed hydrological assessment is completed.
