Hudson Reporter Book raffle scores $8,100 for the Hoboken Shelter × Little City Books, an independent bookstore in Hoboken owned by Donna Garban and Kate Jacobs, raised more than $8100 for The Hoboken Shelter by raffling three signed copies of Barack Obama’s memoir, A Promised Land. The publisher, Crown Publishing Group an imprint of Penguin Random House, granted Little City Books a single copy of the signed deluxe edition of the memoir. Rather than sell it for the listed price of $350, the co-owners decided to hold a raffle to raise money for The Hoboken Shelter, which provides assistance to the local homeless population.
