CARROLLTON To reduce the spread of coronavirus in a public residential facility for seniors, Carroll County officials will invest nearly $1 million to neutralize the virus.
It is the hope of Carroll County commissioners that Carroll Golden Age Retreat will be equipped with an air-treatment process called bipolar ionization. Bipolar ionization uses electrically charged atoms or molecules to neutralize particles of coronavirus.
Once the coronavirus particles are neutralized, they would come together to form clusters too heavy to remain airborne in the breathing area.
Officials are seeking a $991,228 Community Development Block Grant from the Ohio Development Services Agency. Source of the grant funds is the federal Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act. ....
