Palmer Troopers Arrest Two in Mat-Su Trail Head Thefts from Vehicles Case

It was early this month that the Trooper’s Palmer Criminal Suppression Unit began a full-time investigation into the rash of thefts from vehicles at trailheads in the Mat-Su Valley.

AST made contact with the female, who initially gave the officers the wrong name and ID card. It would soon be determined that the suspect’s real name was Jessica Rose Jones, age 34, of Kenai. Troopers saw a woman peering into vehicles at the Crevasse-Moraine parking lot on Friday just before 6 p.m., the statement said. The Crevasse-Moraine trailhead leads into a number of nordic ski trails in Palmer. The woman initially told troopers an incorrect name and provided a wrong ID card, but troopers said she was eventually identified as 34-year-old Jessica Rose Jones of Kenai. ....
