Administration suggests constructive changes to deputy commissioner's village stay programme | Mangaluru News

Additional DC Sadashiva Prabhu and K Raju, assistant commissioner, interacting with students at Government PU College at Palimaru in Kaup taluk on Saturday.
KAUP: Udupi district that took the lead in implementing the revenue department’s much-touted Jilladikarigale Hallige Nadiyiri programme has suggested to the government to bring in a few procedural changes that will make it more people-friendly.
For starters, G Jagadeesha, the deputy commissioner has urged the government to waive the Rs 30 fee charged for making changes in succession chart, a move that will speed up the issuance of ‘warris khata’.
In an informal chat with TOI on the sidelines of the second such programme at Palimaru village in the taluk, Jagadeesha said the other change to the programme that the government has brought in is that the top brass of district administration will stay overnight in the chosen village
