Sarah Iannarone, the urban policy consultant who lost a hard-fought bid for Portland mayor last fall, is the new executive director of a nonprofit group that promotes bicycling, walking and public transit safety issues across Oregon.
Iannarone, 47, was tapped to lead The Street Trust. The nonprofit’s board confirmed her appointment.
The announcement gives the small nonprofit, which has six employees including Iannarone, a big-name and a vocal advocate who championed transportation safety projects throughout her campaign and in her private life for years.
