On Saturday, Chaitar's second wife Varsha reached the Rajpipla sub-jail to receive Shakuntala, along with other party supporters.
AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava surrendered before police in Narmada district on Thursday. He was missing for the last 40 days after being booked for allegedly threatening forest department personnel and firing one round in the air. Vasava reached Dediapada police station with hundreds of his supporters after leading a procession from his party office in the morning. Following his surrender, he was formally arrested by the police. Three other accused also surrendered, said DSP, Ghanshyam Sarvaiya.
Before he arrived, the MLA released a video through his supporters on Thursday morning, confirming his plan to surrender before the police, even as Dediapada taluka in the district has been turned into a fortress with heavy police deployment.
The matter has been listed before the court of Justice Vimal K Vyas.
In case of Shakuntala, the court also stated that since she is in hospital – she had complained of chest pain in jail – she is "yet to be taken into one-day police custody", which was granted by the court on November 8.
