Every now and then I find myself spending more time trying to figure out how to write about something for this column than actually writing about it. I always want to find my own angle on the story and usually that just kind of pops into my head right away
Did you know that this coming Tuesday, The City of Golden is going to be a part of a huge national event involving millions of people? Probably not, but I’m going to fill you in on the details here, so read on. Don’t worry, we aren’t going to have a human avalanche of all those people heading to Golden, they will all be participating from their own hometowns.
As most of you who regularly read this column know, I grew up here in Golden. As a kid, I experienced and enjoyed a lot of the things that this town had to offer and one of those was our biggest town festival, Buffalo Bill Days.
There are a lot of events around that try to entice people to attend by billing themselves as the biggest, the most exciting, the wildest or craziest event in the history of…Well, the history of events, I guess. Ones that draw more people than the gladiators at the Roman Coliseum ever did.
