A woman who died wit her husband in a house fire in Dublin last week was a native of Gurteen. Beatrice Hurley and her husband Michael perished in the blaze at their Portmarnock home. Beatrice (69) and Mike (70) had raised their five children in their large detached home in Beach Park, where they lived for more than 40 years. The five adult children of the couple, Joy (46), Dawn (45), Grace (41), Michael (36) and Abby (34) have paid tribute to the love and support they received from their parents throughout their lives.
