"'Classix' with an 'X' symbolizes classics with a twist," says John Jeter, music director of the Fort Smith Symphony. He's talking about the 2024-25 season, just announced, which he says "continues the orchestra tradition of performing a wide variety of music."
The new music venue in Greenville's West End, Trueline, by industry veteran Mike Grozier, is under construction with plans to open its doors by spring 2025.
"Patrick Conlon wrote three pieces for us this year, and it's a wonderful opportunity to work with a composer in depth on various works," says John Jeter, music director of the Fort Smith Symphony. "It's a great experience because we can really go after a lot of emotional details as we get to know a composer."
