Warwick police officers had stopped the Nissan Altima on Airport Road when Laboy  jumped out of the front passenger seat and ran toward the intersection of Airport Road and Granger Court, according to Neronha. As Laboy crossed Granger Court, officers saw him toss a silver Smith and Wesson SD40 pistol onto the street, Neronha said. Officers caught Laboy in the front yard of a home on Granger Court and also recovered the handgun, which was loaded with a full magazine and a bullet in the chamber, Neronha said.
