With 30% capacity now allowed, Milton Theatre will reopen

Delaware News Journal The arts are back at the Milton Theatre, which will reopen Jan. 22 after closing indefinitely in December. The theater announced the reopening via Facebook on Friday, Jan. 8. Ticket sales began Monday, Jan. 11, and spokesman John Paul Lacap said the day now holds the record for the most ticket sales in Milton Theatre history. About 50 were sold in the first hour, according to Lacap. I think that reflects on the confidence of people in us, that we re not going anywhere, Lacap said. The reopening lineup includes a stand-up comedy show, yacht rocker Boat House Row and The Music of Judy Garland with Broadway s Grace Field.

We are very exhausted - Milton Theatre closes due to COVID-19 pandemic

December 14, 2020 MILTON, Del. – In Delaware, the Milton Theatre is shutting down for the second time this year as a result of the latest capacity limits issued by Governor John Carney. The theatre is now limited to a maximum of 10 people and they say with that kind of limit in place it doesn’t make sense for them to stay open. “That amount of people is not going to pay for the staff, for the artists, for the electricity,” said Milton Theatre Marketing Director John Paul Lacap. The theatre says its closure not only takes a toll on the community but also on the staff they had to furlough as a result of the shutdown.
