The Daily Reporter BRANCH COUNTY — The Branch County Sheriff Marine Patrol will have one new boat for the summer season after county commissioners Tuesday agreed to cut its contingency budget to buy a new, 17-foot Whaler for a patrol boat. Commissioner Leonard Kolcz said “as long as I’ve been on this commission I have always thought the sheriff’s department has always had the short straw and put on the back burner.
