Ringling Causeway lanes reopen after gas leak By FOX 13 News Staff Published  SARASOTA, Fla. - Traffic to the beach was blocked in Sarasota earlier, thanks to a gas leak near the John Ringling Causeway. The westbound lanes of the causeway were closed at Bird Key Park because of the leak, which police say was at a nearby construction site. The road was reopened by 2:30 p.m. Traffic was flowing, at least as well as it does on a Friday afternoon. There was no word of any injuries. Advertisement
