3:45 pm UTC Dec. 19, 2020 His name was Michael Russo, and he was 53 years old.  He was found unresponsive in a wheelchair near 20th Street and Thomas Road and pronounced dead there.  It was May 6, at the start of the second excessive heat warning in metro Phoenix in 2020. Russo was the first person experiencing homelessness this year to die as a result of heat exposure.
