From the Past: Philomath schools graduation in 1898
Although the education scene in Philomath in the late 19th century revolved around the local college, there were classes for the town's youngsters, including a graded school that held a graduation ceremony in April 1898. That news along with items on the temperance movement in 1873, a church convention in 1898, a water permit in 1923, phone service in 1948 and a new basketball coach in 1973 in this week’s From the Past.
