Kogi Governor Ododo Retains Yahaya Bello's Loyalists, Nephew, Other Commissioners In First-Day Appointments

  The Kogi State governor, Usman Ododo, has made some appointments on his first day in office, retaining his predecessor, Yahaya Bello’s loyalists, nephew and other commissioners. Ododo, who was sworn in at the Muhammadu Buhari Mini Stadium, Lokoja, the Kogi State capital on Saturday, made his first appointments during his inaugural speech. The governor nominated some commissioners and other top aides. Some of those appointed served in the immediate past government of Yahaya Bello.

The Kogi State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the November election, Senator Dino Melaye, has stated that the judiciary in Nigeria is no longer the last hope of the ordinary people, but a department in the All Progressives Congress (APC).     Dino who made this known while speaking on Wednesday said he would not challenge the electoral victory of the APC before the state election petition tribunal.

Kogi Election: Power Brokers Met And Decided I Should Come Distant Third – PDP Governorship Candidate, Dino Melaye

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Kogi State, Senator Dino Melaye, has alleged that some unnamed political enemies met to decide “he must become a distant third” in last Saturday’s governorship election. Melaye spoke on Monday during a Channels TV interview, adding that there was over-voting in 17 of the 21 local government areas (LGAs) in Kogi State.
